Hello, I’m Annette Johnson - A passionate proponent of the difference Pilates can make in your life. When I am not teaching Pilates you will find me chasing my grandchildren around or traveling with my husband. I grew up in Colorado where I studied classical ballet and dance, eventually becoming certified in both dance and fitness, including personal training. I taught both for a total of 13 years. During this time I had two beautiful children, Nicole and Richard, and graduated from the University of Denver with a BS in Biology a BA in fine art and certified to teach both disciplines. I began my teaching career in Littleton, CO. Shortly after, we relocated to Pennsylvania where I taught science and art and received my MAED at Gweyned Mercy College. We relocated again across the country. This time our move brought us to California where I taught middle and high school students science, math and art for 14 years. I have a love and passion for teaching and helping my students achieve their goals in a classroom or in a studio setting. I became a true believer in Pilates when I started taking Pilates and working at the front desk at Club Pilates in Westlake Village, it changed my life! After retiring from the classroom teaching Pilates became my passion. I trained and received my certification through Club Pilates and have continued to study and learn each day. My Pilates journey has taken me from WLV to Scottsdale, AZ and Tarzana where I have worked with some of the most amazing teachers, members and staff who have taught me a lot about Pilates and myself. I believe that everyone in a studio contributes to our overall experience. As a biology teacher I understand the changes our bodies go through over time and how difficult it can be when you are working with disease, injuries and aging. In the Pilates studio I pay attention to my students and encourage them to practice with proper body form, alignment, movement and breathing. I do my best in every class to ensure they are learning correctly and performing to their best ability. I believe in teaching with compassion and caring for each individual understanding each day is a journey and we all have our ailments that make it more difficult some days than others. I enjoy helping members achieve their health and fitness goals along with teaching the amazing benefits of Pilates. And I am bringing a lifetime of enthusiastic fitness and teaching experience into my classes. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and love of Pilates!
I started practicing Pilates after having my second child 15 years ago. Being a full time mom and working in the fashion retail business, I know I need an exercise routine that would provide me the best results in a long run. I tried many forms of exercises and the most renowned fitness studios out in the market, but I found all those fitness practices rigid and unrewarding to my fitness goals. When I discovered Pilates, it changed my life tremendously in terms of my mental and physical health, and ultimately my career. I instantly loved the graceful; intuitive yet challenging nature of the movement, how it can benefit anyone physically. After about five years of studying Pilates as a student, I realized I would need to practice it forever. This inspired me to share with others, a breakthrough of desiring to become an instructor. I earned my certified teacher program from Club Pilates in 2014 and have been working as a full time instructor for Club Pilates Westlake Village and Granada Hills ever since. I have a nickname as Sargent Lisa. When I am teaching a group or private class, I focus on my cheerful encouragement with butt-kicking workouts, all the while keeping it safe and fun. On a daily basis, I am inspired by the changes I see in front of me as I watch my clients build strength and make health a priority. My advice for all my clients “I’m here to challenge you, you are here to listen to your body and do the best you can” I like everything beautiful and I’m still very much into the fashion world (my old job as a fashion retail manager). I am always shopping for the hottest fitness outfit. When I am not in the studio teaching, you will find me in my kitchen, my other happy place. Cooking is my other passion. Eating healthy with home made meals go hand in hand with your workouts. Stop and ask me for a recipe or two next time when you see me.
Certified Pilates instructor, Barre and TRX. I've been practicing pilates since 2014 and as a mother of two amazing boys, pilates has changed my body and the way I feel as well as my energy level. My focus is on each client's needs and goals. I enjoy giving aggressive workouts that are fun, yet sensitive to any physical condition or issues is needed.
Born and raise in South Africa. I came to the USA on a students visa, during my studies I met my husband, we have a son and 2 dogs. I currently work in the optical industry but my fun job is teaching Pilates. From an early age I was very involved in ballet, tap, jazz dancing and athletics. I competed and taught dance in South Africa. Dancing, hiking, and athletics have always been apart of my life. In 2017 I started Pilates, it wasn’t long before I added Pilates to my list of passions. I was inspired and encouraged to take the teacher training program thru Club Pilates, thus beginning my journey to become an instructor/ teacher. I find it extremely rewarding to see clients progress, I am always excited to teach and challenge the amazing ladies and men who come to my classes
I took my first Pilates class at age 15, and I loved how much it helped me improve my flexibility and overall strength. The variations in the sequences of each class, as well as how much intention and precision it took to execute the movements kept me coming back. I did my Teacher Training through Pilates Sports Center in 2012. I've continued to take additional workshops at PSC to further my education. I also became certified through Club Pilates in TRX and barre in 2016. I've worked with people of various fitness levels and injuries. I love helping people of all fitness backgrounds experience the benefits of Pilates
Jennifer began her fitness career 13 years ago as a yoga teacher and soon made her way to Pilates. Pilates helped her heal decades old back injuries and later helped her recover from breast cancer treatment (a double mastectomy and four months of chemo). She has helped many recover from injuries, surgeries and illnesses. She has experience with pre and post natal clients and has worked with people ranging in age from 12 to 80+. She believes we can all get stronger, more flexible and live healthier lives through Pilates.
Stephanie has been an instructor with Club Pilates since 2017. She keeps busy as an actress and fitness professional. She fell in love with Pilates shortly after graduating and decided to make the practice a part of her professional life. When she’s not on set or at the Pilates studio, Stephanie loves to paint, write, and travel! She is excited to get to help people on their fitness journey, and looks forward to being a part of yours.
